Controlling Internet Access on Specific Devices

1st Step: Verify the Connections

A stable internet connection is required to log in to the router and make changes in the settings. So you first need to verify if all the connections are well in place.

Check the connection established between the router and the modem. Ensure it is a good one. Examine the cables and wires.

Do a speed test and then proceed further once you are sure to have a non-shaky internet connection.

2nd Step: Turn the Devices On

 5th Step: Restrict Internet Access on Specific Devices

After signing in, you will reach the admin dashboard wherein you will find various Smart WiFi tools. Follow the steps highlighted next to get the job executed:

  • On the left hand side of the page, under Linksys Smart WiFi Tools, click on the Parental Controls option.
  • Ensure that the Parental Controls tab is enabled. If not, toggle the button to the On position.
  • A new window displaying its settings will open up.
  • From the list of devices in Restrict Internet Access on, select the device on which you want to restrict Internet access.
  • In the option Block Internet Access, choose the option Always.

Note: You can choose Never, if you want Internet access should never turn off on that device. Select Specific times, when you want to a particular time during which internet access will be allowed on that device.

  • Finally, when you are done making changes to all the devices, click on the OK button available at the bottom of the window.
  • The changes made by you will be saved.

The devices will have internet access as per the settings that you have made. Go ahead and check if it works fine.
